The first part introduced the fundamental principles of religion, which stated that the foundations of faith and belief must be based upon reasoning and knowledge because a person’s actions and behaviors will be influenced by their beliefs.
When we believe in God with a reasoned and certain faith, must obey his commands. Thus, Allah has outlined the branches of religion (furūʿ ad-dīn) in his Sharī‘a (practical laws) they will discussed In the following sections of the book.
There are many branches of religion; some express the duties and relationship of man with God, such as prayer and fasting, and others state the laws and responsibilities of humans towards each other. Since man’s relationship with God is of great importance, it is necessary to first explain the rules of worship, then the laws and responsibilities of humans toward each other will be discussed in the following sections.
